Kyudo comes from one of the most important weapons in the Samurai arsenal.Even after modern weapons were introduced, the yumi and ya, or bow and arrow, held their respectability as a dangerous combat method.
Today Kyudo is considered a contemplative art often referred to as Zen Archery. As a person goes through the process of the designated physical movements, the object is to coordinate body and breathing, which helps to "polish the mind."
